Project Access: Building an Elevator
The generosity of several families has kickstarted the funding necessary to build a new entry plaza at the Bird Road parking lot. This project includes an elevator tower and overhead walkway to provide accessibility to the Loft and to the Educational Building for all people. It also provides a grand entrance that welcomes people to our church while at the same time improving security for our day school.
It doesn’t seem possible that we have operated this long without providing access to over 5000 sf of our discipleship facilities for anyone who has mobility limitations. We now have the opportunity to solve this problem and ensure that everyone belongs here for generations to come.
The new grand entrance and walkway will create a pedestrian hub that unifies the buildings welcoming new families and young children to Granada. Courtyards on both the lower and upper levels of the grand entrance will foster continued relationships in our gospel community and add to our culture of community and friendship.
The Benefits of the Elevator Tower
- Accessibility to all people for all of our upstairs facilities including youth groups, elementary classes, adult Bible studies, session meetings, and more.
- Increased use of over 5,000 sq feet for ministry purposes (youth loft – 1,849, education building – 3,200)
- Better class space for adult Sunday school class.
- Improved safety for our Day School.
- Room for discipleship growth
- More social spaces for relationships to grow.
- Improved appearance to our new guests.
- Distinctly beautiful entry point for guests on campus.
- Unify all construction from past decades.
We have already received almost $500,000 to begin construction as soon as the permitting process allows. In order to complete the project, we are raising an additional $500,000 throughout 2022 and 2023.
If God has encouraged you to give:
- Write “Elevator” on any donation check given in the offering plate or mailed to Granada Church 950 University Drive, Coral Gables, Fl, 33134
- Choose “Legacy Fund” in the menu of your online donation at granadachurch.com/give
- Email jeff@granadachurch.com to prepare special gifts via wire transfer, stock, or property.

Cafecito Time in Between Services
One of our favorite traditions at Granada, “Cafecito Time,” was removed when the pandemic began. Now, after a year of drastic change and new procedures and advancements, we are able to bring this precious time back to our Sunday mornings.
Our Spanish ministry gets together early in the church kitchen to cut fruit, slice and toast bread, and prepare the most delicious “Cafe con Leche” you’ve ever had. We are so grateful for the volunteers that make this time possible. These treats are served at 10:30 am in between services so that you may either stay late or arrive early to fellowship with other Granada attenders that you may otherwise not get a chance to meet.
This time is held outdoors in our Courtyard patio located inside the campus in between the Fellowship Hall and the Sanctuary. Join us!
Igreja Granada is Granada Church Speaking Portuguese
The Brazilian flags in our campus announce that now Granada Church/Igreja Granada has open arms to receive the Brazilians that are living not only in Coral Gables but also in the greater Miami area.
Igreja Granada, the Granada Portuguese Ministry, is under the leadership of Pastor Ezequias Abreu and his wife Maria Abreu better known as Mara. Day by day our Lord is bringing more people to the congregation in Portuguese. Granada now has a warm and vibrant group of people serving and worshiping the Lord in Portuguese.
Granada has two services in Portuguese every Sunday, 11 am at the Loft and 7 pm at the Fellowship Hall.
